Hi there lovely!
My name is Fran and I am the Mother, Writer and Madwoman behind The Mother of All Survival Guides!
Let me tell you a bit about myself so we can get to know each other!
I am a mother to two beautiful little girls and wife to one, long suffering husband!
I provide general care-giving/food providing/ cleaning/ laundry/ problem solving / cuddle providing/ chauffeur/ secretarial services to the inhabitants of the mad house we call a home, which includes said Daughters and said Husband along with two cats and one very old and grumpy dog.
In addition to my full time position at the Mad House, I work three days a week as the HR Administrator/Events Coordinator/Bob-a-Job for a company and run my own Accountancy Firm the other two days a week.
Its very safe to say that life is hectic!
My favourite things in life are: my family, baths (ALONE! – mostly mine include my children), Coffee (decaff just isn’t the same), Gin (Oh how I’m missing Gin!), Singing (when I don’t think anyone’s listening), Dog walks, dancing, the occasional child free night out (or I’ll settle for a Sunday afternoon!), and fantasising about sunshine filled holidays and winning the lottery.
I was not cut from the ‘normal mould’ and I am very glad about this; I like to have fun in life, in every situation possible, and don’t take myself too seriously – I would rather ride the supermarket trolley down the isles, laughing with my daughters than do the socially acceptable walking with a sour face thing.
We’re all only here once so we might as well have as much fun as we can while we have the chance! It also probably helps that my caring about what people think about me and what’s socially acceptable has decreased with each pregnancy to now almost rock bottom levels.
I am pretty convinced that most of my friends keep me around just to see what ridiculous thing I’m going to get up to next, or the fact that I will be the one to say out loud what everyone else is thinking!
I am also the person who will listen and help in anyway that I can – I like to think that I am a good person!
So if I haven’t scared you off and you think I’d be the sort of friend you want in your life, then stick around and let have a glass of (non-alcoholic) Gin and Tonic – even I’m kind of interested to see what ridiculous thing I’ll get up to next!
